Eligibility

Age Requirements for Parents
Married couples/singles must be at least 27 years old to be eligible to host from Latvia.
There must be at least a 15 year age difference between the host child and the oldest parent.
Citizenship Requirements
One host parent must be a US citizen and reside in the US.
Education Requirements
Each potential hosting parent must have at least a high school diploma or the equivalent.
Health History
Host parents must be in good health with no major medical or psychological concerns.
Not eligible to host if diagnosed with alcoholism within the last 10 years or have any history of illegal drug/narcotic use or abuse.
Criminal History
Not eligible to host if any of the following apply:
Current warrants or currently on probation
Any use of/arrests for illegal drugs; any felony arrests
DUI or DWI charges within the last 5 years, regardless of outcome
Any arrest for a violent crime (examples: assault, domestic violence, child abuse/neglect)
Religious Requirements
Families with religious beliefs prohibiting any kind of medical treatment will not be eligible to host.
